Pantone Colour of the Year: a marriage of gray and yellow.

Pantone picks two colors of the year for 2021: a marriage of gray and yellow.

The executive director of the Pantone color institute Leatrice Eiseman says that this combination is a “message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting, conveying the idea that it’s not about one color or one person, it’s about more than one. The union of an enduring gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude <…> Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope.”

We can often find this combination in jewelry art. Gray is not always cold and yellow is warm. The texture is important in jewelry. It gives a material coldness, neutrality, detachment, or vice versa, warmth, softness and sensuality. The same material with different treatments and designs can contain opposite emotions.

So I couldn’t but make a jewelry gray-yellow compilation
