Jewellery designer and illustrator Maria Anvar blends minimalist elegance with thoughtful craftsmanship. She has shaped her personal design style through a range of experiences. With a background spanning Pakistan, New York, Milan, and Geneva, she has trained under some of the most respected institutions in luxury design, including the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the Richemont Creative Academy. Her experience— from working with independent designers to interning at Vacheron Constantin and working on freelance jewellery projects in the UAE — has refined her eye for precision and timeless aesthetics.
Her jewellery speaks in clean lines and thoughtful proportions, drawing from nature’s subtle geometries. When she launched NVAR, Maria chose a name that carries weight — both a part of her own surname and the Kurdish word for “something new, a rebirth.” It’s fitting. Her work walks the line between timeless and fresh, blending high jewellery techniques with a modern touch — honoring tradition without being stuck in it.
Jewellery is a way of expressing ideas that are hard to put into words,
it’s a balance between emotion and design. — Maria Anvar
